24 Malaysian Companies To Participate In Fine Food Australia 2016 - Matrade

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- Twenty-four Malaysian companies will be featured in the Fine Food Australia (FFA) 2016 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from Sept 12 to 15. The Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (MATRADE) said it would help the companies in promoting and expanding their business into the Australian market and engaging international buyers. "This year will be the 11th time MATRADE is participating in the FFA, the largest trade show in Australia. "The event, which alternates between Sydney and Melbourne every September, brings together world-class producers and leading suppliers," MATRADE, the national trade promotion agency said in a statement on Friday. It said the Malaysian companies would showcase coconut-based products, coffee, tea and cocoa, vegetarian food, ready-to-eat meals, beverages, noodles, confectioneries, cooking oil, frozen food, and sauce and paste. MATRADE said from January to July 2016, Malaysia's total processed food exports to Australia amounted to US$168.72 million (RM691.5 million), making the continent its fourth largest export destination for processed foods. "Edible products and preparations, cocoa and cocoa preparations, prepared cereals and flour preparations, margarine, and shortening and processed seafood are the top five products exported to Australia," it said. --BERNAMA
