Bahrain hosts meeting of top GCC civil service officials

Manama, Sep. 27 (BNA): Ministers and top officials in charge of the civil service of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states held their fifteenth meeting in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Civil service Bureau (CSB) president Ahmed bin Zayed Al Zayed the head of the Kingdom's delegation chaired the meeting. The officials discussed the Supreme Council resolutions relating to treatment of GCC citizens in the civil service equal to the treatment of GCC nationals in whichever member country they are working. The officials decided to form a technical committee at the level of ministerial undersecretaries to study the obstacles facing the implementation of the council resolutions, regarding equality treating the GCC citizens in the field of civil service, It is worth noting that the Kingdom of Bahrain has satisfied its obligations towards all the Supreme Council resolutions, including employment equality. Al Zayed said the meeting discussed the development of ministerial committee work plan in the coming years consistent with the resolutions of the Supreme Council to enhances the GCC joint cooperation between the civil service organizations in the GCC countries. They also decided to assign General Secretariat to set a plan to be ready for the next meeting. The meeting discussed the administrative concepts and terminology manual and names of organizational units in the GCC, he added. The officials were briefed on the study of the comparison in the development and modernization of the civil service legislation, and decided to set up comparison studies and to complete it as soon as possible. They agreed to honour efficient administrative staff in the GCC civil service sector who have dedicated their time and effort to contribute to the construction of their countries in addition to their contributions to achieving the comprehensive national development experienced by the GCC countries. The officials agreed to create a database for the exchange of expertise and transfer of successful administrative experience among the civil service in the GCC countries. They also discussed the preparation of the GCC unified quality model and assigned it to the Technical Committee.
