Premier lauds executive, legislative branches cooperation

Manama, Oct. 3 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa stressed that cooperation between the executive and legislative branches has yielded major monitoring and developmental dividends. He pointed out clear-cut directives to the ministers to fully cooperate with the legislative branch to boost the democratic experience in Bahrain, particularly at this critical time which requires patriotic efforts to ensure continuity of national work towards set up goals. HRH the Premier was speaking as he received at Gudaibiya Palace today Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, MPs and Shura Council members, in the presence of former Representatives Council Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani. HRH the Prime Minister underscored the government's keenness to promote the climate of freedom and democracy which, he said, constitutes the core of the national project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He underlined Bahrain's major and undeniable human rights and democratic achievements, pointing out attempts to downplay them by veering off credibility and impartiality and backing policies targeting Bahrain's security and stability. HRH the Premier affirmed that all efforts are dedicated to secure Bahrain and maintain its achievements mainly amid the current global challenges and their economic and security repercussions. He asserted the government's resolve to bolster citizens' welfare despite all challenges. He also emphasised the importance of fostering cooperation between the executive and legislative branches, commending the patriotic role of members of the legislature in backing the development march. HRH the Prime Minister urged comprehensive and concerted efforts to build on national gains, pointing out common responsibility of ensuring national growth and prosperity. He also called to draw a lesson from what is happening in neighbouring countries and preserve national unity and cohesion by thwarting attempts to hamper national growth. HRH the Premier reviewed international issues, stressing that regional and global developments require precision in handling certain issues through needed legislation to brave ambient challenges.
