Liu Ying, Peng Soon And V Shem Show Their Skills In Acting

PETALING JAYA (Selangor, Malaysia), Oct 6 (Bernama) -- National shuttlers Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying, the National mixed doubles pair and one half of the men's doubles pair Goh V Shem are now stars in a Chinese movie titled 'Goodbye Mr Loser' and expected to hit the cinemas during Chinese New Year in 2017. It looks like the stars have started shining on the trio who were all silver medal winners in the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Liu Ying who is also a model said she was delighted to have been given an opportunity to act in the movie. However, she said acting and modelling would only be her passion on a part-time basis because her main focus would be to play badminton. "I, Peng Soon and V Shem were given an opportunity to act in a movie and we are all excited. The role I was given is a tough one but I guess playing badminton is even tougher," she told reporters after receiving health products from OSIM Malaysia, here Thursday. Liu Ying said movies aside, her main focus now would be to prepare for the World Super Series Final in Dubai from Dec 14-18. "I will also be competing in the Denmark Open and French Open," she said. Meanwhile, V Shem who also played a role in the movie said being an athlete was more difficult than becoming an actor. "The three hours of shooting was a new experience for me because playing a role in the movie needs a lot of concentration just like during a match. But I have not considered the prospect of becoming a full time actor," said V Shem who partnered Tan Wee Kiong to reach the final of the men's doubles in the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. -- BERNAMA
