Shura Chairman to attend Egyptian parliamentary celebrations

Manama, Oct. 7 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh will take part in a celebrations organized by the Egyptian House of Representatives marking the 150th anniversary of the parliament. The function will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh on October 9 with the participation of 19 parliament Speakers, international parliamentary organisations and 15 parliamentary delegations. The event will include a speech by Egyptian President Abdelfattah El Sisi. Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives Dr. Ali Abdul A'a'l will also give a speech at the celebrations. The Shura Chairman stressed that the anniversary stands witness of the glorious history of the Egyptian parliament and its role in promoting the parliamentary culture which inspired many Arab and African peoples. He lauded strong and deep-rooted fraternal ties binding Bahrain and Egypt and both countries' keenness to further consolidate them. The Shura Chairman and his accompanying delegation will participate on October 10 in the joint opening session of the Arab and African Parliaments which will be attended by the Egyptian President. The Arab Parliament will hold its two-day meetings after the opening session.
