Finance Minister meets HSBC, BNP Paribas officials

Washington, Oct. 8 (BNA): Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa met a number of senior officials from the international banks HSBC and BNP Paribas, as part of his participation in the annual meetings of the Governors Council of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in Washington. He lauded the vital role of the two banks as two international pioneering institutions in the financial and banking sector. The minister discussed with the officials ways of baking the activities of the banks’ branches in Bahrain, stressing the government’s keenness to provide every support in this respect. Discussions also focused on the latest developments in international bourses and issues of common interest.
