Malaysia's September Palm Oil Stocks Up 5.67 Pct At 1.54 Mln Tonnes

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's total palm oil stocks rose 5.67 per cent to 1.54 million tonnes in September against 1.46 million tonnes recorded in August, said the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) Monday. Crude palm oil stocks increased 18.02 per cent to 893,187 tonnes in September from 757,789 tonnes recorded at end-August. The MPOB said stocks of processed palm oil, however, dropped 7.54 per cent to 653,986 tonnes in September versus 707,317 tonnes in August. It said crude palm oil output in September increased 0.78 per cent to 1.71 million tonnes from 1.70 million tonnes registered in August. Palm kernel output rose 6.16 per cent to 428,103 tonnes in September compared with 403,245 tonnes recorded in August, it said in a statement. The board said September palm oil exports contracted 20.42 per cent to 1.45 million tonnes (August: 1.82 million tonnes); that of palm kernel oil eased 1.77 per cent to 70,476 (August: 71,747 tonnes); and palm kernel cake decreased 26.09 per cent to 154,949 tonnes (August: 209,650 tonnes). It added that exports for oleochemicals slipped 0.43 per cent to 232,842 tonnes (August: 233,839 tonnes); and biodiesel fell 95.87 per cent to 443 tonnes (August: 10,722 tonnes). -- BERNAMA
