Premier calls for more GCC-Asian cooperation

Bangkok, Oct. 10 (BNA): Under an initiative by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, a meeting was held in his presence between Thai Premier General Prayut Chan-o-cha and Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al Jubair. Both sides discussed ways of boosting the Saudi-Thai relations by exchanging more visits between officials from both countries. They thanked HRH the Premier for his initiative to pave the way for stronger relations and cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Thailand. HRH the Prime Minister asserted that the GCC-Asian cooperation is necessary in this crucial phase due to the regional and international importance of Thailand and Saudi Arabia and their role in promoting Asian cooperation. HRH the Prime Minister, the Thai Premier and the Saudi Foreign Minister held the meeting on the sidelines of the second summit of Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD). They discussed regional issues and ways of fostering GCC-Thai relations by further cementing ties between Saudi Arabia and Thailand. The Thai Prime Minister expressed profound gratitude to HRH the Premier for arranging for the meeting which reflects keenness to maximize joint interests and boost Asian cooperation, in general, and the GCC-Asian relations, in particular. The Saudi Foreign Minister hailed HRH the Prime Minister's initiatives to consolidate relations between countries, stressing keenness on promoting cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Thailand.
