Malaysia, Saudi Arabia To Ensure Wellbeing Of Muslims - Deputy PM

RIYADH, Oct 14 (Bernama) -- Malaysia and Saudi Arabia have agreed to forge a two-way cooperation in various fields to ensure the wellbeing of all Muslims, especially in the region.
Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (left) said the agreement was achieved after he had an audience with King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud (right) at the Al Yamama Palace here Thursday.
Ahmad Zahid said during the meeting he voiced the concern of the government and people of Malaysia about the events in West Asia, especially in the Gulf states.
"King Salman expressed his thanks and appreciation for Malaysia's support especially from the Malaysia's King Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah and Prime Minister Najib Razak.
"We agreed to take joint measures to strengthen two-way relations for the well-being of mankind," he told Malaysian reporters here Thursday.
The Deputy Prime Minister is on a five-day working visit to Saudi Arabia, beginning Wednesday.
Ahmad Zahid said he also presented King Salman with an invitation from the Malaysia's King for an official visit to Malaysia.
"His Majesty has visited Malaysia before ....God willing, he agreed to look for a suitable date and time (to visit Malaysia)," he said.
Ahmad Zahid also visited the Mohammad Bin Naif Counselling and Care Centre here Thursday.
At the centre, he was briefed of the Saudi Arabian initiative to curb terrorism and the deradicalisation programme for extremists. (photoBERNAMA)
