Malaysia's Perak State To Become German Inspired Automotive Skills Training Centre
IPOH (Perak, Malaysia), Oct 19 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's Perak state will be a centre of automotive skills training and German technology expertise as result of a collaboration between the Perak Human Capital Development Centre (PHCDC) with Aachen University, Germany.
Chief Minister Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said the collaboration will add value to skilled labour from PHCDC, particularly in the field of automotive engineering.
He said the expertise will provide greater opportunities for Perakians to work with motoring firms around the world.
"What takes place in PHCDC is a good start in response to the aspirations of the state government which wants to see a more skilled workforce to meet the demand generated by the job market.
"The collaboration with Germany is also consistent as the country is known for its motorsport industry and high-performance tradition comprising brands that dominate the world market such as BMW, Mercedes and Audi," he told reporters after attending a meeting with the teaching staff of Aachen University here.
In the meantime, the Federation of Malaysian Skills Development Centres (FMSDC) Secretary-General Alias Mohd Nadzri said under the cooperation of the 'Malaysian Meister Programme In Automotive', the focus will be on skills training involving mechatronics and hybrid engine systems.
