BIC hosts Bahrain Motorsport Festival

Manama, Oct. 20 (BNA): Bahrain Motorsport Festival will be headlined by a pair of globally renowned racing events: the FIA World Endurance Championship’s (WEC) Bapco 6 Hours of Bahrain and the CIK-FIA World and World Junior Championship in November. Support races will also be on hand, featuring the regionally popular Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East and India-based single-seater championship the MRF Challenge. In addition, off-track entertainment titled "Action-Ha" – organised in cooperation with popular satellite broadcaster MBC – will be held as part of the festival’s off-track entertainment programme. Speaking at a Press conference and launch for the Bahrain Motorsport Festival, BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa said: "Our first ever Bahrain Motorsport Festival is set to be a hugely impressive weekend for fans, with masses on offer with both the main circuit and karting track in action." "We look forward to welcoming the WEC family back for the Bapco 6 Hours of Bahrain, and as the season-finale, there will be plenty to fight for across all the teams. "We will also be able to watch some of the most prolific young talent from across the globe at the karting world championships. Just over two years ago, we had Max Verstappen racing at BIC at a similar CIK-FIA world championship event; now he is mixing it up with the stars of Formula 1. It is tremendously exciting to know that one of the stars of tomorrow will be amongst us racing," he added. Shaikh Salman concluded: "Topping it all off will be Action-Ha, which I am sure will have plenty in store for everyone in attendance. An occasion such as this definitely raises the bar with regards to the high quality of racing and entertainment we offer at BIC each year." "We look forward to welcoming the public to BIC for the Bahrain Motorsport Festival on the weekend of November 17 to 19!"
