Bahrain's achievements highlighted at Quito conference

Quito, Oct. 20 (BNA): Acting Urban Planning Director General Shaikh Nayef bin Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said that the third Habitat Conference being held in the Ecuadorian capital Quito was a significant opportunity to highlight Bahrain's development programmes and to exchange experiences and viewpoints with experts from across the world.
"Bahrain has made impressive strides in promoting urban development in its bid to secure the best living conditions for all Bahrainis and foreigners who chose to reside and work in the kingdom," he said.
"Even though the international community has generally recognized Bahrain's merit and success, the kingdom did not fall into self-complacency and insisted on moving forward with more programmes and new plans. The government's strong dedication to achieving the best standards entwined with a strong wish to be at the forefront of the countries offering the best services empowered Bahrain to draw on its resources and human capabilities to move forward in sustainable development, infrastructure and outstanding living conditions for all components of the Bahraini society."
Bahrain has worked diligently on the implementation of the Millennium Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as soon as the United Nations announced them in 2000.
The Bahrain Report regarding Millennium Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs2015) confirms that the Kingdom has implemented all development goals.
