Bahraini-British labour, social cooperation discussed

London, Oct. 20 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jamil Humaidan has met with the United Kingdom Minister for the Middle East and Africa at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Tobias Elwood. Aspects of cooperation between the two sides in the labour and social fields were discussed. The Labour Minister reviewed social projects and initiatives implemented by the Kingdom of Bahrain under the royal reforms, including providing a comprehensive system for social protection, promoting families with special needs and civil society organizations, as well as social partnership for sustainable development. He also reviewed the labour achievements in terms of the development of the dialogue among the three production parties and Bahrain's success in reducing the unemployment to lower and safe rate. The British Minister highlighted the UK keenness on boosting relations with Bahrain, praising Bahraini social and labour efforts that bolster its regional standing. The meeting aims to activate the MoU signed between the two sides in November 2012.
