Royal interest in Bahraini youth praised

Manama, Oct. 22 (BNA): During His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s prosperous era, the pioneering Royal Reform Project has reflected positively on the Bahraini society, and opened new horizons for youth to become more effective in the kingdom’s national march, Youth and Sport Affairs Minister, Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowdar, said. The minister was commenting on the global youth development index compiled by the UK Commonwealth Secretariat that showed that Bahrain was the best Arab country that offered good prospects for young people. This is an assertion by a neutral official party of the unmatched support and care enjoyed by Bahraini youth from HM King Hamad, and thanks to the tremendous efforts exerted by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to implement the royal directives to upgrade Bahraini youngster and provide all opportunities for them, which was clear in the Government Action Plan. He added that the UN’s praise of the survey and its findings is another global recognition of the future prospects offered by Bahrain to its youth through giving them full chances to be involved effectively in all sectors. The minister added that the kingdom’s interest in youth started with the establishment of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS), under the presidency of HM King Hamad, who laid the foundation stones for youth action in the kingdom. Then, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and HM the King’s Personal Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, SCYS Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, built on the landmark achievements of the youth movement in the kingdom, and increased them, with the follow-up and support of the SCYS Second Deputy Chairman and Bahrain Athletics Association, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. He affirmed that HM the King had given Bahraini youth utmost interest, being the strategic depth of the nation and its future asset, noting that youth have been given top national priority since HM King Hamad’s Accession to the Throne. HM the King’s interest in Bahraini youngsters have brought about a quantum leap in the Bahrain youth movement, he said, citing the increased decent job opportunities for youth, the improved educational and health services, and the royal keen interest to pave the way for them to express their opinions within a democratic atmosphere, take part in the decision-making process through joining civil society organisations and vote in the elections. The minister revealed that HM King Hamd had launched numerous infinitives to boost the youth movement through upgrading its technical and administrative work and developing youth-related infrastructure.
