Bahrain participates in ISESCO conference

Tunis, Oct. 28 (BNA): Education Minister, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, has participated in the First Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Education Ministers’ Conference, held in Tunisia, under the patronage of President Beji Caied Essebsi, under the theme “Towards boosting and activating joint Islamic educational action“. The minister in his statement said that the theme of the conference is in line with Bahrain’s educational policies reflected in its school curricula or student activities. In this regard, he highlighted the Education Ministry’s pioneering step of launching the “Citizenship and Human Rights-Promoting Schools” project, aimed at consolidating the values of tolerance, co-existence and dialogue, and denouncing extremism at educational institutions. He also pointed out that UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of ICTs in Education aims to encourage the use of the ICT in education, noting that this year’s edition will be devoted to pioneering projects aiming to facilitate the access of the needy to education. The minister shed light on the efforts being exerted by the kingdom to improve the output of education thanks to the unwavering support of the leadership, citing the King Hamad Schools of the Future Project, aiming to promote e-learning, as well as the “Digital Empowerment in Education” aiming to increase the use of technology in education.
