Jordanian King receives Interior Minister

Amman, Oct. 31 (BNA): As part of the strong brotherly ties between Bahrain and Jordan, His Majesty Jordan King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein received in Al Husseiniya Palace His Excellency Interior Minister, Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in Jordan on Monday. HM Jordanian King welcomed HE the Interior Minister and conveyed his greetings to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. HM Jordanian King asserted the strong and historical ties between the two countries and his commitment to reinforcing them in all aspects. HE Interior Minister conveyed the greetings of HM the King, HRH Prime Minister and HRH Crown Prince, and their best wishes for security and stability in Jordan. HE Interior Minister expressed during the meeting his appreciation for the supportive stance from Jordan both regionally and internationally. He said such support signifies the depth and strength of brotherly ties, cooperation, coordination, and joint destiny. They discussed current events in the region and the importance of reinforcing Arab cooperation in finding political solutions to achieve security and stability. As part of his visit, HE Interior Minister held a negotiation meeting with his Jordanian counterpart, Salameh Hammad in which they discussed development of bilateral relations between the brotherly countries, especially in the security sector. He said the existing relations between the two countries are based on similar understandings of areas of common interest in addition to a genuine desire to cooperate bilaterally. He said the leaders of the two nations have built these bonds and in doing so have advanced Arab ties. This promoted achievements for the people of both countries. HE Interior Minister said that his visit comes as part of the ongoing negotiation and coordination in security and anti-crime cooperation through the exchange of expertise. They discussed means to reinforce joint cooperation between the two countries, especially in fighting crime, terrorism and narcotics. The Jordanian Interior Minister highlighted that Bahrain and Jordan represent a unique example in bilateral joint work and said their ties go beyond common relations between countries. He said fighting extremism and terrorism is a national duty and responsibility that requires enhanced cooperation. He highlighted that his country is ready to provide expertise and capabilities in all sectors for Bahrain. The meetings of HE Interior Minister were also attended by Acting Bahraini Ambassador to Jordan and MOI officials.
