Astro's Go Shop Expands Into Singapore Market

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 (Bernama) -- Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd (Astro) is expanding its business in Singapore by partnering with Singapore's StarHub Cable Vision Ltd (StarHub) to offer Go Shop, a 24/7 shopping destination on TV, online and mobile. Astro said Go Shop, which is a new way of shopping via informative and entertaining demonstrations with a lot of packages for TV and entertainment programmes with news, is set to cover a larger demographic and will commence in the first week in November. Since Go Shop was launched in Malaysia in January last year, it has provided comfort and convenience for home shoppers in all screens and devices, Astro Chief Executive Officer Datuk Rohana Rozhan said in a statement Monday. "We are privileged to now extend this service to our sophisticated and affluent Singaporean neighbors through our partnership with StarHub," she said. Meanwhile, StarHub Chief Officer Tan Tong Hai said the company is confident that Astro Go Shop would be a successful venture that appeals to both consumers and businesses. Go shop has attracted over 500,000 customers, with a total of 75 million online and mobile page views in Malaysia. --BERNAMA
