Brunei Thump Timor Leste 4-0 In AFC Solidarity Cup Opener

KUCHING (Sarawak, Malaysia), Nov 3 (Bernama) -- The opening match of the 2016 AFC Solidarity Cup at Sarawak Stadium in Petrajaya, here, Wednesday night saw Brunei Darussalam crush Timor Leste 4-0. The wet and waterlogged pitch following a heavy downpour before the match caused the first half of the game to be quite sluggish. In the second half, Brunei opened the score in the 62nd minute through Azwan Ali who scored another five minutes later, and Mohammad Shah Razen Said slotted a penalty for the third goal in the 70th minute. In the 80th minute, Adi Said completed the rout with a fourth goal. Timor Leste will meet Nepal on Nov 5 at the State Stadium while the Nepal-Brunei match will be held on the same day at Sarawak Stadium. Meanwhile, in the group B matches Thursday, Sri Lanka will square off with Laos at 4.30 pm at the State Stadium and the Macau-Mongolia match will kick off at 7.30 pm at Sarawak Stadium. -- BERNAMA
