Malaysia's Johor To Hold Trade, Investment Mission To Shanghai, Changzou

KULAI (Johor, Malaysia), Nov 4 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia's Johor state government will organise a one-week trade and investment mission to Shanghai and Changzou, China, starting this Saturday, to attract investors. State Tourism, Domestic Trade and Consumerism Executive Committee Chairman, Tee Siew Kiong, said the mission, which he will lead, will include representatives from various state agencies, including Johor State Investment Centre, Johor Tourism and Johor Bahru City Council. "It will also include government-linked companies like Iskandar Regional Development Authority, Johor Corp, Johor Petroleum Development Corp and Johor Biotechnology and Biodiveristy Corp," he said. Tee said this to reporters after a working visit to Kulai district here Thursday. He said in Shanghai, the delegation will participate in the 'Shanghai-Malaysia Business Forum' in conjunction with the Malaysia Promotion Programme 2016. "The progamme serves as a platform for interaction and discussions between Johor and potential investors from China. "It will also create opportunities for joint-investments between the country and Shanghai," he said. Tee said in Changzou, the delegates will boost the relationship between the city and Johor Bahru as 'Friendship Cities'. "This will open up opportunities and boost cooperation in the fields of investment, trade, tourism between the two cities," he said. On his working visit, Tee said, Kulai was well-known as 'Shopping Leisure' district, attracting tourists from China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and Taiwan. "The Johor Premium Outlet will hold a sales campaign from Dec 1-15 to attract the tourists," he said. --BERNAMA
