Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Theatre Award paints a smile

Manama, Nov. 26(BNA): The festival shows of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, Theatre Award for National Clubs, Youth Center and People with Disabilities continued yesterday with the eleventh show "Seven Days Comedy" by Al Shakhoora Youth Center. The Award is organized by the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs in collaboration with the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, at Isa Town Cultural and Sports Club Hall, with the slogan #Painting_A_Smile. The festival is sponsored by: Tamkeen, Batelco, BANAGAS, Coca Cola, Al Hawaj, GPIC, Majestic Cars, Economic Development Board, Bapco, Palace Enterprises, Gulf University, Nissan, Yousif bin Ahmed Kanoo and Gadooa. The play's crew is as followed: Written by Al Abdulbabi Al Zaidie, Direction and Scenography by Abdullah Al Bakri, Assitant Direction by Hani Yaqoub, Production Management by Sayed Hashim Al Shakhoori, Photograpy and Posdter Design by Mohamed Ahmed, Makeup by Sarah Al Shayji, Sand clock design by Maysam Al Nasser and Production presidency by Ghalib Al Bana'a. The actors of the play are as followed: Hamza Al Asfoor, Aqeel Al Majid and Ahmed Sultan. Audience filled Isa Town Cultural and Sports Club hall to watch the show and attended the review session conducted after the play by Habib Haider, who gave his opinions on the play and answered questions related to it. The director of the play, Abdullah Al Bakri attended the review session and answered questions. Al Majid: a chance to meet Aqeel Al Majid, an actor in the play "Seven Day Comedy", stressed that the festival is an opportunity for Bahraini youth to meet and also a cultural and artistic venue which will bring out many youth talents to the stage, He explained that theatre is one of the art forms that had needed to be revived, thanking HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for taking the step to support the festival for the second time in a row. Al Majid said that the participation by Al Shakhoora Youth Center was good, hoping that they delivered a beautiful artistic show. He pointed out to the importance of such festivals in finding and utilizing youth theatre talents. Al Asfoor praises the large attendance Hamza Al Asfoor, an actor in the play "Seven Day Comedy", said that the large crowd that filled Isa Town Cultural and Sports Club hall to watch the show presented by Al Shakhoora Youth Center confirms the success of the event. "The audience reacted very well to the festival and was keen to attend daily to watch the shows." Al Asfoor continued: "We hope that Al Shakhoora Youth Center deliver the ideal performance which will be liked by the audience." He further pointed to the importance of participating in these festival, which are an important place to find talents and refine them. Kanoo: Our sponsorship goes in line with the directives of HH Shaikh Khalid Nabeel Khalid Kanoo, Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group boardmember, stressed that the festival is a fertile environment for youth artists. He said that the today's theatre scene needed fresh blood that can represent Bahrain on the level of this art form which has been dormant for a while. The sponsorship from the Group comes in line with the directives of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the importance of supporting youth in various fields, he added while pointing out that the initiatives of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa confirms the keenness of His Highness in supporting the youth. "We appreciate the role of His Highness in supporting youth in the Kingdom. The theatre scene has been revived through this event,", he stated, "We highly appreciate Bahrain's artistic youth. The theatre is a cultural platform to discover talents which will reflect positively on the theatre scene," Nabeel Khalid Kanoo praised the step of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in integrating people with disabilities to this year's edition, stressing that it's part of the continuous humanitarian initiatives from His Highness. Today is the final show by Hamad Town Youth Center The festival's activities come to an end today (Sunday) at 7:30Pm with the twelfth and final show by Hamad Town's Youth Center play titled "Eshal Zaman." The crew of the play is as follows: Fatima Abdulaziz (director), Abdullah Yousif (Actor, writer and assistant director), Ali Bader (Acting and scenography) and Hamad Al Oraifi (Production manager). The actors are as follows: Busakin, Abdullah Mudhi, Mohamed Bader, Aisha Dishti, Zainab and Mariam Al Omairi. The invitation is open for everyone to attend the play at Isa Town Cultural and Sports Club. AHN
