Education minister receives award-winning students

Manama, Dec. 1 (BNA): Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Noaimi on Thursday received students of governmental and private schools who won the 'Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Child Creativity', at the level of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) schools.
The minister praised the award and its numerous benefits for the participants, congratulating the winning students on their plausible achievement, affirming the ministry's keenness on engaging students in such type of extracurricular activities. He added that the ministry attaches great importance to creativity, talent and cultural and artistic activities as an essential link integrated with the efforts aimed to patronize innovative students and provide proper educational environment for them.
The Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Child Creativity was launched in 1998 and has ever since contributed to supporting the efforts aimed to develop innovativeness in children, advance skills, foster innovative capabilities and develop creative ideas, and consolidate the principle of honest competition among children.
Students Fatima Al Hayki, Ibrahim Osama, Mariam Abdulhakeem, Roqayya Taleb, Yara Ali, Ayesha Al Sindi, Noor Najm, Noora Bu Majeed, Mazen Najeeb Ali and Salman Al Ammadi, have won top awards.
The minister's meeting with the winners was attended by Member of Parliament Abdulrahman Bu Majeed, the Director of Student Services Jassim bin Herban, the Director of Organisations and Committees Affairs Kifaya Al Anzoor , Head of Cultural Activities Nadia Sayyadi, directors of schools, the award-winning students and their parents.
