Bahraini media figure honoured

Manama, Dec. 2 (BNA): Bahraini media figure and writer Sawsen Al-Shaer has been able to add a new achievement to Bahrain's international record when she was honoured alongside an elite of Arab women in the second edition of the annual Arab Women Awards held in the British capital London. The event was held under the patronage of London Mayor, in cooperation with London and Partners foundation and Regent's University London. Al-Shaer was granted the Community Awareness Award in recognition of her efforts to boost social awareness in Bahrain and the Gulf region. In an interview with Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Al-Shaer expressed happiness about the award, especially as it coincided with the kingdom's celebrations of the Bahraini Women's Day. She stressed that such achievements are the dividend of the great care and support given to all Bahraini people to stand out and excel. She added that she was among an elite of 13 Arab women who received the award in various categories.
