Speaker hails GCC Summit in Bahrain

Manama, Dec. 4 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla lauded the wise approach of the GCC leaders aimed at boosting the GCC march and backing the efforts of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in tackling regional issues and further cementing relations between the GCC member states towards more integration and cohesion. The Representatives Council Speaker paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his directives to further bolster joint GCC work, commending the GCC honourable stances in defending Bahrain at regional and international gatherings and condemning the terror attempts which targeted the kingdom. He said Bahrain's hosting of the 37th GCC Summit comes amid critical international circumstances which require more GCC coordination to preserve civilisational achievements and counter terrorism. The Representatives Council Speaker affirmed that the forthcoming summit, which will convene on December 6, will usher in a new phase of joint GCC work, lauding advanced GCC coordination in various political, defence, security, economic and social fields. He also pointed out the great success of the "Arab Gulf Security 1" drill which took place in Bahrain with the participation of GCC security forces. He reiterated the legislative branch's pledge to support the decisions that will be taken by the GCC leaders and translate them into a reality.
