Ambassador: Summit will enhance GCC complementarity

Manama, Dec. 5 (BNA): Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain, Shaikh Azzam Mubarak Al Sabah, has expressed confidence that the 37th Summit of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), to be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, will push joint GCC action forward, describing it as an important step towards GCC complementarity.
He asserted that the summit will consolidate the existing strategic partnership among GCC countries, stemming from the shared history and common destiny of GCC peoples.
In a statement to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Ambassador Shaikh Azzam highlighted the importance of the 37th GCC Summit, amid the critical situation and the extraordinary challenges the region and the world are going through and require GCC consultation and coordination.
In this regard, the ambassador affirmed that the Gulf Cooperation Council is the bulwark against the current and future challenges, and the best means to ensure lasting security, stability, progress and prosperity for member states and their peoples.
Shaikh Azzam praised GCC leaders' keenness to meet the aspirations of GCC peoples for enhancing joint GCC march, and instilling the concepts of GCC citizenship and cohesion.
He voiced confidence that the 37th Summit will succeed in coming up with fruitful results that will strengthen the pillars of cooperation among member states and make the GCC more ready for rapidly-unfolding regional developments.
