Omani ambassador: GCC achievements source of pride

Manama, Dec. 5 (BNA): Omani Ambassador to Bahrain Abdullah bin Rashid Al-Madailwi has lauded the great achievements of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in various fields. In a statement to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Ambassador Al-Madailawi affirmed that since the first edition of the Summit of the GCC Supreme Council on May 25th, 1981, GCC leaders have laid the foundation for collective active for the sake of ensuring the interests of the GCC peoples. Every phase of GCC action has added new milestones to the joint GCC march in the economic, development, military, security, cultural and social fields, he said, stressing that the landmark GCC accomplishment are a source of pride for all GCC citizens, as they embody the depth of the strong values of fraternity and joint cooperation among members states. The ambassador went on to say that the GCC has always been, and is still a source of hope for GCC citizens, noting that the GCC has set the example in cohesion and ability to confront challenges and difficulties and safeguard the security and stability of this vital region thanks to the wisdom and statesmanship of GCC leaders. The Omani Ambassador expressed thanks to the Kingdom of Bahrain for hosting the 37th GCC Summit, as well as for its unwavering efforts to foster joint GCC action, expressing hope that the new summit will boost GCC action and bring about more joint achievements that broaden join cooperation and meet the aspirations of GCC peoples in this regard.
