Khalid bin Hamad Award success hailed

Manama, Dec. 5 (BNA): His Excellency Mr. Hisham bin Mohammed Al Jowder, Minister of Youth & Sports Affairs, affirmed that the continuity and successes of the Khalid bin Hamad Award for Theater Youth Festival for National Teams and Youth Centers and people with disabilities for the second consecutive year under the slogan #painting_a_smile is an obvious result of the support from His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, Honourary President of Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation, and his constant eagerness to stand by Bahraini youth and create the ideal atmosphere to relentlessly pave the way of creativity.
Al Jowder in his speech during the closing ceremony, held last Saturday, stated, "The Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs is honoured to implement the recommendations of the judging committee, according to the directives of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, confirming that such recommendations would raise the level of success of the festival in the coming years, since they sprung from experience possessed by members of the judging committee.
HE the Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs pointed out that the Khalid bin Hamad Award for Youth Theatre is one of the most important intellectual and cultural gatherings that provides young Bahrainis with a large space to develop the reality of youth theatre and elevate it, considering it as a strong art form capable of positive direct interaction with the public and deliver to them ideas via of artistic scenes aimed at addressing a number of issues.
His Excellency, Mr. Hisham bin Mohammed Al Jowder clarified that the award has become one of the sources of enlightenment, culture and innovation in youth theatre, based on what youth have presented in its previous edition and what we witness in the current edition through the continuous preparations of various theatre teams, whose sole goal was to assert the role of Bahraini youth in the artistic movement and theatrical movement.
Jowder said that the second edition of the festival witnessed a new experience with the involvement of people with disabilities in theatrical work, which will form a qualitative shift in the award, in addition to this initiative being vital in order to present their artistic skills and creativity in the field of theater, to be added to the numerous professions and creative work that they can do.
