Minister launches 'Bahrain Through Post Cards'

Manama, Dec. 6 (BNA): On the side-lines of opening the Media Centre for the 37th GCC Summit, Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi - has launched a documentary book titled "Bahrain Through Post Cards" authored by Younis Hashim Al Kooheji. The minister listened to a briefing from the author about the content of his book which includes hundreds of postcards that narrate the political, cultural and social history of Bahrain and its human and urban development throughout the decades. The minister praised Bahrain News Agency (BNA)'s efforts in publishing this invaluable documentary book, citing BNA's role and contributions in boosting the national progress through production of such publications that showcase important phases in the Kingdom's history and modern urban development. Al Romaihi also praised the author's efforts in compiling his book which is considered a new addition to enrich the national libraries and serve as a reference for researchers and future generations regarding important phases of national development recorded in postcards, wishing him success. Mohannad Sulaiman Al Noaimi, Advisor for Communications and International Relations and Acting Director-General of Bahrain News Agency, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the minister for his keenness and diligence on supporting BNA's programmes and activities aimed to maintain its longstanding presence in the local arena emanating from its responsibility to serve the Bahraini society. Al Noaimi also praised the author's efforts of in compiling this book which comes as the fruition of cooperation with Bahrain News Agency. Younis Hashem Al Kooheji expressed his gratitude to Bahrain News Agency (BNA) for supporting and providing all requisite capabilities for this distinctive book, affirming the continuity of his efforts to compile more books which will highlight the nation's cultural, heritage and social accomplishments. He is also a member of Bahrain History and Antiquities Society, a member and former chairman of Bahrain Stamp Collectors Society.
