Bonne from Meerab hopes swift government formation to revitalize state institutions

NNA - "Lebanese Forces" leader Samir Geagea met on Thursday at his Meerab residence with French Ambassador to Lebanon, Emmanuel Bonne, with talks reportedly touched on most recent developments on the local and regional arena. Dwelling on the current domestic affairs, Ambassador Bonne expressed contentment regarding the end of presidential vacuum in the country and the election of the president of the republic, saying "France awaits the formation of the government and reviving state institutions." "France is in constant readiness to help the Lebanese," Bonne noted on emerging, hoping that the new government would be formed swiftly to revitalize state institutions. The Ambassador also commended the Lebanese ability to preserve Lebanon's stability. In this context, Geagea stressed that "President Michel Aoun is determined to implement the Constitution and is keen that every state institution assumes its role." Geagea branded President Aoun's oath speech as "a statesman's speech par excellence" and has entered Lebanon into a new phase. As Geagea underlined openness to any external economic support for Lebanon, Geagea stressed that "the priority remains for the fight against corruption so that state institutions would regain their equilibrium, vitality and regularity." Turning to the Syrian current situation, Bonne expressed regret for the unrelenting massacres and the lack of decisive international resolutions to end the Syrian crisis. Both Bonne and Geagea saw eye to eye over the need for the issuance of clear positions which would end the humanitarian agony on the Syrian arena.
