GE Launches New Remote M&D Centre To Improve Power Plant Performance

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 9 (Bernama) -- Swiss-based GE's Power Services on T launched its first remote monitoring and diagnostic (M&D) centre for power services in Asia-Pacific that offers data analytics solution to more than 200 power generation assets in the region. GE's Power Services General Manager for Asia-Pacific Anders Maltesen said the centre, located in the capital, offered predictivity solutions that can help power plants to potentially reduce maintenance costs by up to 30 per cent. "Using GE's predictivity solutions, customers will benefit from a real-time data collection, enabling efficient problem solving guidance, as well as, the avoidance of false alarms," he told reporters before launching the centre. Maltesen said the facility would help GE's Power Services' customers overcome operational barriers before problems occurred. "The continuous operational data flow through the centre helps keep a constant contact with our customer sites and our engineering teams. "This creates the ideal platform for better collaboration between our engineers and customers which facilitates a faster and more complete resolution to the problems faced," he added. The Kuala Lumpur centre strengthens the existing global network of GE's Power Services M&D locations in the United States, Scotland, Switzerland, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, India and China. --BERNAMA
