Saudi-Bahraini agreement on King Hamad Causeway hailed

Manama, Dec. 9 (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministerial Committee for Construction and Infrastructure Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa described King Hamad Causeway as a milestone and a new evidence of distinguished fraternal relations between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The Deputy Premier hailed the historic agreement between Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to conduct a study funded by the private sector on the new causeway which will parallel King Fahad Causeway, connecting Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. He said the agreement reflects both countries' keenness to go ahead with the implementation of the project which was announced for the first time in 2014 under the support of late Saudi monarch King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the project reflects the leaderships' belief in the importance of the complementary steps of the various linking projects between the GCC member states, notably the GCC transportation network through the GCC railway project. He also paid tribute to the leaderships of both countries for their keenness to boost the role of the private sector in carrying out vital projects in partnership with the public sector.
