Premier receives British parliamentary delegation

Manama, Dec. 10 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at his palace in Riffa today a British parliamentary delegation on the occasion of their visit to Bahrain to take part in Manama Dialogue. He asserted the need for common visions between the East and West to map out strategies capable of boosting regional and international security and stability. HRH the Premier affirmed keenness of the people in the region on peace, stressing that dividing people on sectarian basis or exploiting that for plots to deepen the sectarian gap is unacceptable. He also hailed assertion of the British Prime Minister of her country's keenness on the security and prosperity of Bahrain and the GCC member states and her emphasis that the British and GCC military interests are intertwined. HRH the Prime Minister lauded the strategic trend to boost relations between Bahrain and the UK, in particular, and the UK and the GCC countries, in general, describing the new change in the British vision and its strategic trend towards the region is welcomed by the GCC member states. HRH the Premier hailed the visit of the British parliamentary delegation to Bahrain which embodies solid relations of more than 200 years between the two friendly countries which are based on mutual respect and keenness to achieve common interests. He lauded, in this context, the historic visit of British Prime Minister Theresa May to Bahrain which reflects solid ties binding both countries at all levels. He also hailed the British Premier's participation in the GCC-British summit, praising its positive outcome. HRH the Prime Minister underscored Bahrain's keenness to further promote cooperation between the two friendly countries regarding various issues of common interest. He also affirmed Bahrain's keenness on global security and stability to boost people's welfare and fast-track development.
