Official: Assaluyeh Port ready to host biggest ships

Bushehr, Dec 11, IRNA – Manager of ports and marine terminals of Pars Special Economic Energy Zone Ali Najafzadeh said its numerous jetties are capable of hosting biggest ships. He said the port faces no restrictions in hosting such vessels. He also noted that the port enjoys piers 15 meters in length which make it suitable for hosting the biggest ever ships having docked in the country so far. Noting that the port is exclusive to oil tankers, the official went on to stress that a major portion of port’s activities was in import of equipment needed by the Iranian oil industry. Najafizadeh said that the port was also active in export of oil and non-oil commodities. The official said the port faced problems due to restrictions imposed on its activities during the anti Iran sanctions period, but now after the removal of sanctions it is able to give more services to the oil industry sectors. 1378/IRNA
