Iran strongly condemns terrorist blast in Turkey

Tehran, Dec 11, IRNA – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Sunday strongly condemned terrorist blast in Turkey which claimed the lives of tens of people. The spokesman condoled with the bereaved families of the victims as well as the Turkish people and government. Iran is deeply concerned about continuation of terrorist actions and spread of violence and unrest in the friendly neighboring country of Turkey, he noted. Terrorists and extremists have shown desire for resorting to the language of violence and terror in a unique way, the official added. He said that international community and the regional states should give a firm and united response to the terrorism which has become a considerable threat against all countries and fighting it needs collective global commitment and cooperation. He said that the Islamic Republic has always been ready to adopt required measures for full-scale response to terrorism and extremism. In addition to 29 people killed, at least 166 others were also wounded in two blasts near the Vodafone Arena, home to the Besiktas football team on Saturday. 1378/IRNA
