Boosting GCC cooperation, integration underlined

Manama, Dec. 12 (BNA): Economic Development Board (EDB)'s CEO Khalid Al-Romaihi has lauded the agreement among the Gulf leaders, reached during the GCC Summit recently held in Bahrain, on the establishment of a high-level economic and development authority for its significance for promoting GCC coordination and integration in development fields. Al-Romaihi told Bahrain News Agency (BNA), on the sidelines of the Logistics Committee meeting, that the EDB was among the Bahraini delegation chaired by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa at the GCC Supreme Committee first meeting. He said that the EDB will actively contribute to pushing the GCC coordination and integration to highest levels, noting the Gulf countries complete but not compete each other, therefore the economic and development integration process will consequently benefit all GCC countries and their citizens. He added that the economic and development authority comprises leading personalities and experts who will add impetus to the authority's role in activating GCC cooperation and integration.
