Agrobank's Hartani-I Wins Best Islamic Product Prize At Doha 2016 Awards

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 13 (Bernama)-- Agrobank's Hartani-i financing product won the "Critics' Choice Best Islamic Product" in the agricultural financing segment at the Islamic Retail Banking Awards 2016 held in Dubai recently. President and Chief Executive Officer Wan Mohd Fadzmi Wan Othman said in a statement that the award was the highest honour garnered by Hartani-i in the agricultural financing category. Hartani-i, a financing facility for individuals to buy agricultural land and one of Agrobank's main financing products, was introduced in 2014 to encourage all groups, including professionals and private sector employees, to own land as an investment or for retirement. The main objective of Hartani-i is to encourage members of the public to buy agricultural land for an agricultural project or as an investment. "Through an innovative financing product such as this, an individual with a fixed monthly income could own agricultural land to start their own farm or as an investment. "The product offers very competitive returns and the repayment period can stretch out to 20 years," Wan Mohd Fadzmi said, adding it also offers up to 100 per cent financing for eligible applicants. -- BERNAMA
