Speaker praises fallen servicemen's sacrifices

Manama, Dec. 17 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla has affirmed that celebrating the Commemoration Day on December 17 every year as per directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa is a token of gratitude to the late servicemen of the security and military bodies who set the best examples of bravery and redemption while assuming their sacred patriotic duties.
He stressed that the late servicemen’s bravery and sacrifices will always be remembered by Bahrainis, and will stimulate everyone to be more dedicated in the service of the homeland.
Al-Mulla prayed to Allah the Almighty to rest the souls of Bahrain’s late servicemen in eternal peace, valuing highly their sacrifices and heroism while defending the kingdom’s security and stability, and championing the right and legitimacy.
The Commemoration Day is a kind royal gesture and a noble humanitarian initiative launched by HM King Hamad to consolidate the true values of loyalty and belonging to the homeland, he said, noting that the occasion reflects Bahrainis’ readiness to make sacrifices for the sake of the kingdom’s glory.
The Speaker underlined the Council of Representatives’ support to the families of the fallen servicemen, and keenness to cooperate with the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa, to pass laws and legislation that honour the late servicemen and take care of their families.
He extended profound thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and President of the Supreme Commission for The Royal Fund for Fallen Servicemen, for issuing Edict No. 1/2016 appointing members to the commission.
Al-Mulla also lauded the popular stances voiced during the Commemoration Day, and the citizens’ solidarity with the families of the fallen servicemen.
