Deputy premier receives UNDP resident representative

Manama, Dec. 21 (BNA): Deputy Premier, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the United Nations Resident Coordinator and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Bahrain Amin El Sharkawi. The deputy premier reviewed with El Sharqawi areas of cooperation between UN-affiliated organisations and the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as the vital projects sponsored by the UNDP in Bahrain. Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak lauded the role played by the UN Resident Coordinator and the UNDP Resident Representative to consolidate and facilitate coordination between the two sides, as well as in building national capacities to help achieve national priorities and the sustainable development goals. El Sharkawi praised the kingdom's the approach adopted by the kingdom to achieve sustainable development goals, stressing that Bahrain in among the developed countries in this regard. He thanked the deputy premier for the audience, as well as the Government of Bahrain for its constant cooperation with the UNDP regarding its initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable development goals.
