Terror attack in Bahrain condemned

Riyadh. Jan. 2 (BNA): The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states strongly condemned the armed attack by a group of terrorists on the Reform and Rehabilitation Centre in Jau, Bahrain. A security officer was killed and another injured in the assault in which ten convicts in terror cases escaped from the centre. The GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani stressed strong denunciation of the armed attack, describing it as a heinous terrorist act and voicing the GCC countries' support to Bahrain in all measures taken to maintain its security and ensure the safety of its people. Dr. Al Zayani voiced confidence in the capability of the Interior Ministry's security bodies in Bahrain to track down and arrest the terror elements and the fugitives, bring them to justice and uncover the supporting parties to them. He also extended deep-felt condolences to the family of the fallen serviceman, the Interior Minister and the Bahraini people, wishing the injured security officer a speedy recovery.
