Investment opportunities highlighted

Manama, Jan. 5 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza today received PowerChina company president Wu Wenhao and Lamar Holding company president Lina Noureddine, who expressed their companies desire to invest in power generation plants. The minister highlighted the opportunities for the private sector to invest in electricity, water and renewable energy projects. The minister said that the Electricity and Water Authority EWA's always welcomes such projects and opens the visas for local and international companies and establishments to invest in the Kingdom of Bahrain so as to meet the huge demand for electricity and power and to future needs as part of the Authority's policy of supporting and consolidating the cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain's government and the private sector in the acquisition of water and power plants. The minister added that the doors of senior officials in the country are always open to meet with investors and to support them by all possible means. The two guests expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the minister and the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA)'s officials for the welcoming reception and for their supporting all investors in the sector in the interest of the nation and its citizens. Adnan Mohammed Fakhro, EWA's Executive VP for distribution and customer services, and Jehan Al Murbati the Director of Sustainable Energy Unit were also present during the meeting.
