La Kaffa To Open Regional Operations Centre In Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 6 (Bernama) -- Taiwanese food and beverage (F&B) chain, La Kaffa International Co Ltd, plans to expand its business in the ASEAN region with the opening of its regional operations centre in Malaysia. La Kaffa is the parent company of popular bubble milk tea brand, Chatime. Chairman Henry Wang said the operations centre was expected to open in the first quarter of this year. "With the rapid economic and consumption growth, plus the high acceptance of Taiwanese food, Malaysia is the perfect destination for La Kaffa's expansion plan. "I am confident that the new food brands to be introduced in the Malaysian market will be well received," Wang said at a press conference here Friday. He said La Kaffa's latest product, Duan Chunzhen Beef Noodle, was scheduled to enter the local market in the second or third quarter of 2017. "We are also willing to collaborate with Malaysian companies that are looking for opportunities in Taiwan," he said. The company also announced the termination of LOOB Holdings Sdn Bhd's Chatime master franchisor contract due to disagreements in the direction of business operations. Wang said it would take over the Chatime business operations in Malaysia and assured franchisees that they would continue to receive support from the company. La Kaffa, which operates F&B brands such as La Kaffa Coffee, ZENQ, Bake Code, Wagokoro Tonkatsu Anzu Giza and Osaka Ohsho Gyoza, has a presence in over 80 cities in more than 30 countries worldwide. -- BERNAMA
