Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry issues statement on so-called regime’s participation in KVN in Sochi

Baku, January 13 AZERTAC
Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement on so-called regime’s participation in KVN in Sochi.
The statement says: “We are expressing regret and dissatisfaction over the invitation of “С хлебом и солью” and “DeleYaman” teams acting on behalf of so-called regime created in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan by Armenia to the 28th International Festival of KVN, which will be held on January 10-23, 2017 in Sochi, by the Club of the Funny and Inventive (KVN) International Union and Television Creative Association AMIK”.
The Azerbaijani community and KVN lovers and fans sharply protest against the invitation of “С хлебом и солью” and “DeleYaman” teams to the 28th International Festival of KVN, and assessing it as a provocative and biased step.
“The Republic of Azerbaijan has always welcomed the KVN’s spirit, goals and objectives which promote peace and friendship among people and nations. Our country’s KVN teams have traditionally participated in KVN competitions and festivals and contributed to development of this movement. The recent achievements of the Azerbaijani KVN team are a clear example of it.”
The international community recognizes Nagorno-Karabakh as an integral part of Azerbaijan and supports the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Creating conditions for participation of “С хлебом и солью” and “DeleYaman” teams in the 28th International Festival of KVN, KVN International Union and Television Creative Association AMIK demonstrates non-friendly position supporting the violation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan and promoting Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan, separatism and so-called regime created in the occupied territories as a result of bloody ethnic cleansing. The organizers of the event know that 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories have been were, more than one million people became refugees and internally displaced people as a result of the Armenian aggression.”
“We hope that KVN International Union and Television Creative Association AMIK will prevent the participation of such provocative teams in the festival, that are promoting separatism and undermining the spirit of KVN objectives aimed at promotion of friendship, prosperity and peace among peoples,” concludes statement.
