The total export volume of processed goods reaches 35% in Kazakhstan. Moreover, Kazakhstani manufacturers sold goods worth $35 billion last year. Over the past 10 years, Kazakh entrepreneurs expanded the range of products sent to foreign markets. At present, Kazakhstani businessmen export nearly 1,000 types of goods to 117 countries worldwide.

MEYIRZHAN MAYKENOV, DEPUTY CHAIRMAN, KAZNEX INVEST:

Raw products are exported to far abroad, and non-primary goods are exported to the neighbouring countries. In accordance, we built a strategy of promoting Kazakh goods and put an emphasis on our traditional, strategic markets on export of processed goods such as the EAEY, the CIS, the Caucasus, and markets of Iran, Afghanistan, and the East China.

Among those who are successfully entering the foreign markets is the fiberglass pipe manufacturing plant ‘Amitech Astana.’ In 2016, almost 50% of the plant’s products were exported. The plant sends its products to Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. In addition, the plant fully covers the Kazakhstan market’s demand for fiberglass pipe.

Ulan SARSENKULOV, DIRECTOR GENERAL, AMITECH ASTANA:

Kazakhstan hosts Expo this year. Therefore, in 2017, the plant will maintain the growth rate that was set before.

ABZAL SADVAKASSOV, ADVISOR TO DIRECTOR GENERAL, AMITECH ASTANA:

All raw components that are used for our pipes manufacturing are subject to mandatory accreditation at our two centers: Norway and Saudi Arabia. Each raw ingredient is tested for at least two years, later it becomes included into the "approved list". The resin is imported from Europe, and quartz sand is produced in Kazakhstan. We buy it from several quarries. Only these three quarries could provide consistent quality.

The demand for Kazakhstani pipes is growing. The agreement on export of 30% of this year’s output has been already concluded. Glass produced in Kazakhstan has a good reputation in Central Asian countries. Industrial glass processing plant ‘KSS Astana’ reported a twofold increase in production volumes. The plant was opened in Astana two years ago as part of Industrial-Innovative Development program and has become the main supplier of glass products for the region. A similar enterprise has been operating in Almaty since 2004. The enterprises manufacture various types of glass such as architectural, laminated, colored and multi-layered, with a high degree of protection the bulletproof one. In addition, Kazakhstani glass is energy-efficient.

Marina DMITRIYEVA, PRODUCTION DIRECTOR:

Our main object for today is the Expo. We are proud that we have achieved quality results. The orders are mainly placed from companies in Astana, due to large-scale construction projects in the capital city. In general, the orders are received throughout Kazakhstan, which are equally important.

In total, KazStriSteklo plants cover 25% of demand of the internal market. Astana branch has statrted exporting to Kyrgyzstan since last year.
