BACA president meets heritage official

Manama, Jan. 18 (BNA): Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa received Global Heritage Fund executive director Stephan Portman and discussed cooperation and ways of protecting heritage vestiges in Arab countries. BACA President, also chairperson of the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARCWH), stressed keenness on preserving the tangible and intangible Arab heritage. The meeting was attended by ARCWH officer in charge of the heritage culture Kamal Beitar. BACA President reiterated ARCWH commitment to work in tandem with international heritage institutions, particularly Global Heritage Fund, to safeguard heritage in Arab countries which are facing crisis.
