Bahraini-Egyptian relations, regional issues discussed

Manama, Jan. 18 (BNA): Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, praised the outcomes of his visit he paid today to the Kingdom of Bahrain, during which he met with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. The Egyptian minister told the Middle East News Agency that his visit comes within the distinguished bilateral relations and interest in promoting Arab solidarity and joint action, adding that he arrived in Bahrain conveying a letter of appreciation to HM the King from President Abdul Fatah Al-Sisi. He lauded the Bahraini-Egyptian relations and the constant communication between both leaderships on promoting the bilateral relations and exchanging views on regional issues and challenges faced by the two countries. He pointed out the appreciation of both leaderships and people of the historical bilateral relations. He said the meetings during his visit focused on enhancing cooperation to achieve stability and prosperity of both countries depending on national aptitudes and rejecting sectarianism. He underlined his country's interest in maintaining the Gulf security as an integral part of the Egyptian national security. He said the meeting with HRH Premier tackled bilateral relations and regional issues of joint interest. He attached great significance to the talks held with his Bahraini counterpart Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, in the presence of the Egyptian Ambassador to Bahrain, Suha Al-Far. He noted both countries' keenness on reinforcing the bilateral relations, emphasizing that cooperation has witnessed a remarkable boost following the joint committee meetings as the two sides agreed to continue addressing issues faced by the region, including crises in Syria, Yemen and Iraq.
