Bapco achieves 3 million hours without LTI

Manama, Jan. 19 (BNA): Bapco & Contractor employees have recently achieved a new record in safety by completing 3 million hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI).
This significant accomplishment reflects the ongoing efforts and dedication of Bapco & contractors employees to working safely.
Commenting on this occasion, Bapco’s Deputy Chief Executive Refining & Marketing and Chairman of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Committee Ebrahim Talib, said: “As we congratulate ourselves on our continuing excellent level of safety performance, we must also reinforce our vigilance and efforts in the prevention of injuries” “Record safety achievements of this kind do not happen by accident, but are rather due to vigilance, awareness, adherence to health and safety requirements, continuous improvements and commitment from everyone in the company. This latest milestone is a testament to how strongly we take our safety culture, and is impressive in that it was achieved while undertaking higher risk work during our largest ever period of shutdown and maintenance which involved nearly 1.5 million hours in itself. It needs to become a way of life that we want to adopt, rather than have to. Our next target is 5 million Bapco & contractors’ employee-hours without a LTI.”
He expressed pride in Bapco’s continued pioneering role as a key supporter of the environment, health & safety EHS drives not only on Bapco level but throughout the entire Kingdom. He concluded by underlining Bapco’s ongoing commitment to enhance its safety profile in line with the directives of HE Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa, the Minister of Oil and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bapco.
