Muharraq pilot youth centre opened

Manama, Jan. 21 (BNA): His Majesty’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa opened Muharraq Pilot Youth Centre.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by a number of ministers, Shura Council members, MPs, governors and guests.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa unveiled the commemorative plaque, signaling the opening of the milestone, which was set up by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The youth hub includes an administrative building, a football stadium, a cultural auditorium, a VIP hall, a semi-Olympic swimming pool, a café and e-library, which is the first of its kind in Bahrain.
The milestone which cost BD1.978 million also features a reception hall, a fitness centre, a mind game room, an IT lab and other girl-only facilities.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa stressed the SCYS-led efforts to enhance youth centres, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to promote Bahraini youth and hone their skills.
He commended the dedicated efforts of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, which yielded the Muharraq Pilot Youth Centre as part of the strategy to upgrade youth and sport infrastructure in Bahrain.
