National Sports Day celebration hailed

Manama, Feb. 1 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan hailed His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister's order to dedicate half of the workday on Tuesday for sports activities in the governmental ministries and directorates, The decision announced by the Cabinet on Monday coincides with Bahrain's National Sports Day and aims to boost health awareness. The minister commended the support of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and his kind patronage of the Kingdom's nationwide celebration of its annual National Sports Day on February 7. The ministry said it would mark the National Sports Day through an array of sports and health awareness activities with the participation of the staff of its community development centres and local community members as well as the rehabilitation centres, elderly people's clubs, and youth and children's clubs. The ministry will also participate in the Sports Village activities and programmes including a productive families corner to offer their products to the village visitors as well as the ministry's "Our Services" corner which will highlight the ministry's comprehensive services.
