Muharraq win lauded

Manama, Feb. 4 (BNA): Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar congratulated the president and members of Muharraq Sports and Cultural Club on winning the Prince Khalifa bin Salman Basketball Cup. Muharraq beat Nuwaidrat Club 73 - 58 on Friday to clinch the cup. Askar said that the teams delivered a great performance in the final match, especially since it carries the name of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, The Prime Minister whose support to the Youth and Sports sector is constant. Askar said that Muharraq delivered a great technical performance during the match, and it reflects the club’s board efforts - headed by Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa - and all the board members in supporting the team. The BOC general secretary also lauded the efforts of the players, technical and administrative members during the competition. He also praised the performance of the Nuwaidrat team in the match, saying that they delivered a good performance that suited the final match. Askarnoted the efforts of Bahrain Basketball Association, headed by Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa in organizing this competition, which reflects on the care of the association in raising the general level of competition.
