Speaker emphasizes supporting military institutions

Manama, Feb. 5 (BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla stressed the legislative branch's support for the military institutions to boost their role in maintaining the homeland's security and stability. In a press conference held today on the sidelines of the Council of Representatives' special meeting, Al-Mulla said that an anticipated meeting will be held tomorrow with Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of Shura Chairman and heads of Legislative and Legal Committee of both chambers. He noted keenness of the MPs and Shura members to closely learn about the significance of the amendments referred by the government to the legislatures and how the same will contribute to the development of the military institution system, especially the referred amendments fall within the military court powers. He extended sincere congratulations to HM the King marking the 49th Anniversary of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF). He also congratulated BDF Commander-in-Chief on the same national occasion.
