National Sports Day on track

Manama, Feb. 6 (BNA): The first-ever Bahrain Sports Day due on Tuesday, at the directive of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister, covers all parts of the country and aims to promote athletic and health-enhancing physical activities Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant secretary-general and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) secretary-general Abdulrahman Askar unveiled the official mascot inspired by Bahrain map. Askar described the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and the Youth and Sports Affairs Ministry and Bahrain Olympic Committee as the main partners in bringing this first of its kind sport gathering in the Kingdom. Thanks to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his continued support to sports in Bahrain, leading the nation to massive development in all areas and HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President as a role model for Bahrain’s athletes and his contributions to sports in the nation, all ministries, governorates, sports federations, national and expatriate sports clubs in addition to the youth centres will all deliver a nationwide multi-sporting event on a single day for citizens and residents all age groups.
